Swim lessons

Getting ready for swim class!

UPDATE:

Ethan started swim class yesterday at the YMCA. He wasn't too thrilled about rinsing in the shower prior:( We were early of course, i wanted him to adapt to the echoes. When it was time to get in, the coldness of the pool was a shock to both of us! He HELD on very TIGHT during this time. The instructor was great: we sang a bunch of songs, splashed a lot(which Ethan DID NOT enjoy in his face), he kicked his legs, he paddled, got water poured on his head, and they even had him (mostly me lifting him) practice getting out of pool on the side. Overall, by the end, he was okay with it...yes, only Okay....the real test will be when we go back tomorrow.

On a different note:
Today was the start of SUMMER for Ethan and I, so be sure to check back frequently! We start swimming lessons next week, we're driving to Cali next week, and just hanging out...so I will be sure to capture the "moments" for all to see!

Toys, again

This was a gift from the Van Duine family--there are 3 total, but we only opened one right now--and as you can see, we are using it a barrier. Ethan loves it! When he breaks through one of the holes, he takes off towards the kitchen; just as if he has been jailed up for years!

Recently, Ethan began watching cartoons on TV. He loves Handy Manny, Micky Mouse Clubhouse and YO- Gabba Gabba (this one drives me crazy). While out and about this weekend, I found him a Handy Manny doll (yes, I just said a doll...heheheh). He grabs it by the neck and gives it kisses (still will not give kisses to adults...only stuffed objects and my students). Well, when Handy Manny came on, he grabbed his doll and watched....so SWEET!!!

BBQ with the Peraltas

We had a BLAST with the Peraltas this weekend! It was fun to watch Lily and Ethan interact...this best was when she pushed him off the chair, and the took her BIG TOE and finished him off by pushing him to the ground...YES, with her BIG TOE!!! HAHAHAHAHHA
